Synopsis
These five scenes are designed to stimulate student interest in two social movements of the nineteenth century, Abolitionism and Women's Rights, by showing selections from the life of Frederick Douglass, "The Lion of Black Emancipation." The scenes are his first public speech to an antislavery society, his address where he withstood an attack by a mob, his support of the Suffragists at the Women's Rights Convention, his meeting with President Lincoln, and his association with Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony.
