Green Room's Privacy Policy

 Summary

Included in this privacy policy are details concerning how Green Room Press, Inc, (“Green Room”) handles the personal information that it collects and that is transmitted to it. This information includes details that identify you, like your name, address, email address, phone number, and other non-publicly available information, along with information related to how you use Green Room services. Green Room does not accept responsibility for the actions of companies that are unrelated to Green Room or people not employed or managed by it.

How Green Room Collects Information and What We Do With It

When you sign-up for an account, use Green Room services, and visit pages on Green Room’s site, Green Room may collect personal information.  Additionally, when you conduct a transaction with Green Room or use one of the services that we provide, Green Room may collect personal information.

In order to conduct our business, Green Room receives information from your browser, including your IP address, browser settings and pages requested. Green Room also uses a cookie to keep track of your login status.

Green Room collects and uses information to i) fulfill requests for products and/or services,  ii) improve our products and the services, iii) contact you and iv) report the name and first performance date of producing organizations to self-publishers.  Any further information provided to self-publishers will require your concurrence.

Registration

Green Room requires an account to publish content or place an order. When you sign up for an account, we will ask for your personal information, including your first and last name, organization name and email address and physical address. You will also have the option to choose a public name, which will be visible when you post reviews or in the forums.

When you sign up for an account at Green Room, you will have the opportunity to choose to receive updates from Green Room. If you choose to opt-in, you may receive email communications from Green Room. Your email address will be shared with the service that delivers these communications. When you sign-up for an account, you may receive email communications from Green Room, whether or not you agree to receive news and updates. These communications will involve site-critical announcements, changes to our Member Agreement or other important communications.

Transactions

When you place an order, you will be asked to provide your personal information, including your name, email address, organization name, address, and phone number. This information will be used to fulfill your request, verify payment information, and deliver your order.

You will also be asked for payment information and a billing address. You may pay with PayPal or by providing us with an American Express, Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit card number, security code, and expiration date. This information will be processed through PayPal‘s Merchant Servicing to complete your transaction and will be encrypted through secure socket layer (SSL) technology. Credit card information is used to process your order, but is not stored on our server – this is for your protection.

Revenue from Author Direct

When you post your play to Green Room for Author Direct publication, you will be required to provide remittance information in order to receive revenue payments. This information will be requested during the play submission process and may be changed by accessing the Author Info in the Author Direct tab of the My Account page. You will be required to provide your name, address, email address and phone number as well as your PayPal username, which will be used for payment processing.

All earnings through Author Direct are subject to US tax laws. It is your responsibility to report your Author Direct earnings to governmental agencies, as Green Room is a service provider. 

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Green Room does not share the personal information it gathers with unaffiliated companies or people not employed or managed by Green Room. Personal information is only shared with third parties in the following situations:

·                     Agents - Personal information may be shared with trusted partners who work on behalf of or with Green Room under confidentiality agreements. The type of information shared includes personal information that helps Green Room communicate with your or complete financial transactions and will only be used by the partners as directed by Green Room.

·                     Affiliates - If you choose to receive newsletters from companies affiliated with Green Room, your email address will be shared with those affiliates. Your personal information may be used by our affiliates for sending you email notices/newsletters. An unsubscribe option will be available.

·                     Your personal information may be disclosed in response to subpoenas, court orders, legal process, or to exercise our legal rights and defend against legal claims or as otherwise required by law.

·                     Your personal information may be disclosed if Green Room deems it necessary in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, or situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person or in cases of violations of Green Room’s Terms of Use.

·                     Your personal information may be disclosed if Green Room is acquired by or merges with another company.

·                     As a Self-Publisher, you consent to permit Green Room to display information you identified as public to users of the site.

Personal information requested is identified as such and if you decide to include any personal information in content or works uploaded for display for purchase on Green Room, it will be available to other users.  In those cases, Green Room does not guarantee that your personal information is protected as described in this Privacy Policy.  Green Room does not delete or redact personal information from the content or works you provide for upload. You understand and agree that you must delete your personal information from your content and works prior to uploading it to Green Room if you do not want that information shared with users.  If you would like to refer a friend to a Content or Works page on our site, we will collect their name and email address, which will be used to email your friend the content/works you reference.

Information Transmission

Green Room may transmit personal information to other countries, which may not have the same data protection laws as the country where you reside.  Green Room will apply the terms of this Privacy Policy to all personal information that it collects.

Cookies

Green Room will set and access standardized cookies on your computer, which are linked to your email address and password and do not include any other personally identifiable information. Session ID cookies are used to recognize your computer as you move from page to page on the Green Room website.  Persistent cookies are used to identify your time zone, language preference, and/or country, to allow you to use the Green Room forums and reviews. You can manually delete cookies at any time through your browser’s Help feature. If you choose to delete cookies, you will be able to browse our site, but you will not be able to purchase or publish any Green Room content or works or participate in the forums.

Editing Your Account

You can edit your account information at any time by visiting the My Account page.  You may also correct, update, delete, or deactivate personal information by contacting us at the mailing address listed below.  Critical service announcements and other administrative messages are a requirement of Green Room membership and may not be unsubscribed. Green Room’s newsletter does have an unsubscribe option.  If you have published content or a work on Green Room’s site, especially in forums or reviews, that material may remain on the site even if you choose to terminate your membership.  If you have published works on Green Room’s site, that information will remain until we have processed your termination of the self-publishing agreement, which may take up to 60 days from acknowledgment of communication from you.  If you are part of a collaborative project and have granted permission for a work to be used, then that material will remain on the site per that separate permission agreement.  If you use the Green Room forums or submit a review, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit can be read, collected, or used by other users to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these areas.

Confidentiality and Security

We confine access to your personal information to employees who we believe reasonably need that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.  Your Green Room Account Information is password-protected; however, you are responsible for the safety of your password.  Green Room uses industry-standard SSL encryption in some areas of the website to protect data transmissions related to commerce.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Green Room may update this policy at its own discretion, The policy will be available for viewing on the Site at all times
