| | Jim is a playwright, published author, humorist and poet residing in Houston, Texas.
Jim's humorous comedies have won several of the annual “Ten by Ten” competitions, sponsored by Scriptwriters/Houston. His stage plays have been produced at Stages, Main Street Theater, and Theatre Southwest in Houston, Texas.
Jim’s comedy, LIFE ISN’T VERY EASY, was a national finalist for the 2005 “Heideman Award,” presented by the Actor’s Studio of Louisville, Kentucky.
His one-act comedy play, A.L.I.C.E. was winner of the 2005 Drury University national playwriting contest and was performed in Springfield, Missouri - April 6-9, 2006.
Jim’s one-act comedy, GENTLEMEN OF THE PRESS, co-written with Eddie Cope, is being published by Brooklyn Publishing, Midland, Texas, in 2007.
His newest full-length Musical Comedy (spoof); INVASION OF THE POTTY SNATCHERS;was selected for a professional Rehearsed Reading at the Fourteenth Annual New Play Reading Series at Country Playhouse, Houston, Texas. The formal Reading-Recital, including introduction of eighteen original songs, occurred Sunday evening, March 26, 2006, on the large stage at Country Playhouse, Houston, Texas.
Additionally, Jim is Founder and Owner of the new Side Gate Theatre, an intimate fifty-five seat theatre located in the shadows of downtown Houston and dedicated to the production of new and original un-produced stage scripts.
