Eddie Cope

Eddie Cope is a Houston-based playwright and journalist with more than 30 plays in his portfolio. During World War II, while stationed in North Africa and Italy, he wrote film documentaries and was awarded a War Department Commendation. After the war, he studied journalism and playwriting at the University of Texas and continued his education at the American Theater Wing in New York. His plays have been produced across the country, and four have been staged overseas. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, the Texas Non-Profit Theatre Association and Scriptwriters/Houston. He is retired from TV Guide magazine and now attends and/or reads more than 100 plays a year.
